We’re pleased to announce that our partner Thomas Carver, attorney at Carver, Cantin & Mynarich, was recently honored for the second time in three years by Best Lawyers in America in its 2020 rankings as “Lawyer of the Year” in the area of criminal defense: General Practice in Springfield, Missouri and in 2018 Criminal Defense: White-Collar criminal defense.
Recognition for this award is based solely on peer review. Carver received the highest number of votes from his peers, which include other leading lawyers, resulting in his inclusion as “Lawyer of the Year.” Each year, only one lawyer is recognized as Lawyer of the Year in his or her legal practice area and location.
Carver also maintains an AV Martindale-Hubbell Rating, the highest possible rating awarded to lawyers by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the largest and most comprehensive source of lawyer ratings in the world and the company behind lawyers.com.
Much like the “Lawyer of the Year” Award, The AV Martindale-Hubbell Rating is awarded based on nominations from Carver’s peers. Created in 1887 as an objective tool to evaluate a lawyer’s abilities and professionalism, and demonstrates Carver’s high ethical standards and preeminent legal ability
Carver is a former president and board member of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and at its recent annual meeting was awarded the Bernard Edelman Tradition Award for “graciously taking the time to use his experience, knowledge, and skills to mentor younger attorneys.”
This award is periodically awarded by the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, which “recognizes outstanding service and performance by dedicated criminal defense attorneys.” Carver is the first recipient of this award since 2015.
Carver currently focuses his practice on federal criminal defense, complex criminal tax cases and uses his four decades of experience to assure his clients receive the rights and benefits they are entitled to under our Constitution. He is joined in this pursuit by his exceptionally talented partners Shane Cantin and Erica Mynarich.
