Springfield Attorney Erica Mynarich is one of three distinguished lawyers in Missouri to be selected as a winner of the prestigious Lon 0. Hocker Award, a young trial lawyers award in Missouri.

The Missouri Bar Foundation annually recognizes three up and coming young trial lawyers from around the State of Missouri who have demonstrated unusual proficiency in the art of trial advocacy.

She received her award at the annual meeting of the Missouri Bar Association on September 21, 2016 at the Lake of the Ozarks.

In the Missouri Bar’s interview, Erica explains some of her motivation for criminal defense work.

“I think I have the best job on the planet because I get to help people when they are at their darkest moments.”

“What drives my passion for this job are the relationships I’m able to build with these people who are going through really tough times.”

“Just because they may have done something really bad, doesn’t make them bad people.”

Ms. Mynarich primarily represents individuals and corporations charged with violations of federal and state laws. She is an accomplished federal criminal lawyer and has been at the helm of many successful defenses. This includes substantial experience with sex crimes and child pornography possession and distribution cases.

Ms. Mynarich is a shareholder in the Springfield, Missouri firm, Carver, Cantin & Mynarich, LLC and is an honors graduate of Northern Illinois University School of Law. She is also a graduate of the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College in Wyoming as well as its graduate program.

The Lon 0. Hocker Award was established in 1954 and has been awarded annually since then. It is among the most prestigious awards given by the Missouri Bar Foundation.

Carver, Cantin & Mynarich are individually talented attorneys, but it’s their commitment to teamwork that makes the difference. The defense firm was recently awarded a coveted Tier 1 ranking from Best Lawyers and U.S. News and World Report as one of the best law firms in Springfield, Missouri.
