In the November 2020 edition of THE POWER LIST from Missouri Lawyers Media, Thomas Carver of Carver, Cantin & Mynarich was named a Power 30 lawyer in white-collar defense, placing him among the top 30 Missouri lawyers in his practice area.
The publication’s search for Missouri’s most powerful lawyers was conducted by interviewing attorneys and other leaders around the state, reviewing records of verdicts and settlements, and consulting media archives.
Attorneys who practice white-collar defense defend their clients from adverse government actions when they have been accused of committing a crime of fraud as a business or government professional.
Sitting at the crossroads of criminal and civil law, these crimes are characterized by deceit, concealment, or a violation of trust and are not dependent on the application or threat of physical force or violence. Carver applies nearly five decades of legal experience to these cases, working diligently to protect the rights of his clients under the Constitution.
This title follows several previous awards for Carver for his work in the area of white-collar defense. Since 2013, he has received four recognitions as Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” in Southwest Missouri in the area of white-collar crime, a title that is awarded to only one attorney in his or her geographic location and legal practice area each year.
Working alongside his exceptionally talented partners Shane Cantin and Erica Mynarich as Carver, Cantin & Mynarich, Carver currently focuses his practice on federal criminal defense and complex criminal tax cases. The firm itself has won several awards for its excellence, including recognition as a U.S. News & Best Lawyers Best Law Firm in both 2017 and 2019, a distinction that places it in the top 4% of law firms nationwide.
